Strawflower 'Pierrot White'
This choice selection of heirloom Immortelle has a full ruff of papery bracts surrounding yellow centers, all highlighted with a penciled black ring. They do well in lean soils, rock gardens, and edges of the border in sandy spots with California poppy. Prized as an unusual, gracefully shaped dried flower, pick when starting to open. They seem to fall asleep in cloudy weather or when raindrops fall, the petals gathering together into a bud shape and swirling open again when the sun returns.
